Oneword ("the App") is a journal application that helps you capture your day in a single word. This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data and respects your privacy. Your trust is essential, and we are committed to transparency.
The App collects only the data you explicitly enter:
All data is stored locally on your device. If you sign in with an iCloud account, your data is synced to your private CloudKit database (Apple's secure cloud service) for backup and cross-device access. You retain full control over your iCloud data.
Your data is stored locally on your device with file protection enabled. If you enable iCloud sync, data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. The App uses industry-standard encryption for all connections.
The developer (Joshua Deitel) has no access to your encrypted iCloud data. Only you can access and sync your entries via your Apple ID.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings > Account > Delete Account. This action will:
Once deleted, recovery is not possible. Apple retains the right to retain backup data per its standard iCloud retention policies.

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Once you delete your account via Settings > Account > Delete Account, your data is permanently removed from the App and your iCloud account. Apple's backup infrastructure may retain encrypted backups per Apple's standard retention policy (typically 30 days).
The App is rated for ages 4 and up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
