Roundup: Settle the Tab ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information.

The App collects minimal data. All information you enter is stored on your device and synchronized only to your own Apple iCloud account via CloudKit. No third-party servers, trackers, or external analytics are used.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Data You Provide

When you use the App, you may provide:

• Group names, member names, and expense descriptions (text you enter)
• Expense amounts and dates
• Currency preferences
• Sign in with Apple identifier (used only for your own account and iCloud sync)

This data is entered by you and is the functional core of the App. No data is automatically collected from your device.

1.2 Data We Do NOT Collect

The App does not request or access:

• Location or GPS data
• Contacts or address book
• Photos, videos, or media
• Health or fitness data
• Motion or activity data
• Calendar or reminders
• Browsing history or search history
• Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
• IP address or network information (beyond standard server logs)

1.3 Sign in with Apple

The App uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. Your Sign in with Apple identifier is used solely to:

• Authenticate your account on your device
• Sync your data to your own iCloud account (CloudKit)

We do not use this identifier for marketing, tracking, or any third-party purpose. Apple does not share your identity with the App developer.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for:

• Storing and displaying your expense groups and calculations on your device
• Syncing your data across your own Apple devices via iCloud CloudKit
• Computing settlement recommendations (who owes whom)
• Rendering shareable settlement cards for sharing with your group

We do not use your data for:

• Advertising or marketing
• Third-party analytics or tracking
• Profiling or behavioral analysis
• Training machine learning models
• Selling or renting to third parties

3. Data Storage & Security

3.1 On-Device Storage

All your expense data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. The data is encrypted by the operating system.

3.2 iCloud Sync

If you sign in to iCloud, your data is automatically synchronized to your private iCloud CloudKit database. This sync is encrypted end-to-end and controlled entirely by Apple. We cannot access the CloudKit data.

3.3 No Third-Party Servers

The App does not transmit your data to any third-party server, cloud service, or analytics platform. The only backend used is Apple's CloudKit (which belongs to your own iCloud account).

4. Data Retention

Your data remains on your device and iCloud account until you delete it. If you delete the App, your local data is removed. Your iCloud data persists in your iCloud account until you delete it manually or your iCloud account is terminated.

If you request account deletion, all associated data in the App's database is permanently removed.

5. Your Privacy Rights

5.1 GDPR (European Union)

If you are located in the EU, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

• Access: You can request a copy of your data. Since all data is stored on your device or iCloud account, you have direct access.
• Rectification: You can correct inaccuracies by editing your data in the App.
• Erasure: You can delete your data by removing groups and expenses in the App or deleting the App.
• Portability: You can export your data as plain text (Pro feature).
• Objection: You can stop using the App at any time.

5.2 CCPA/CPRA (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected
• Delete personal information (subject to certain exceptions)
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (not applicable—we do not sell data)
• Non-discrimination for exercising your rights

5.3 Other Jurisdictions

You may have similar privacy rights under laws in your jurisdiction (e.g., UK GDPR, Brazil LGPD, Canada PIPEDA). Contact us if you have questions.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The App is suitable for children ages 4 and up. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (as defined by COPPA).

Since:

• The App collects only data the user explicitly enters
• No third-party trackers or analytics are used
• No targeted advertising is served
• Sign in with Apple is used only for user account sync, not tracking

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following Apple services, which are integrated into iOS:

No third-party analytics, advertising networks, or SDKs are integrated.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
