Privacy Policy

The short version: Snippet collects no personal data. It runs entirely on your device, requires no account, and contains no trackers, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or marketing SDKs. The words you write stay on your device.
1. Who we are
Snippet ("the app", "we", "us") is an iOS application published by Shimon Deitel (the "data controller"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at s0533495227@gmail.com. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information.
2. Our approach to your data
Snippet is built to be private by design. We do not operate analytics servers, we do not profile you, and we do not sell or share data with anyone. The app does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number in order to write your daily moments.
3. Information you enter stays on your device
The journal entries you write, your responses to the daily prompts, and your in-app preferences (such as your chosen theme) are stored locally on your device. This information never leaves your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
4. Purchases
Snippet offers a single optional one-time in-app purchase, "Snippet Pro" ($0.99), that unlocks convenience features such as search, year grouping, and export. All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment-card details. Whether you own Pro is determined directly from Apple's StoreKit on your device.
5. No tracking, no ads, no third-party SDKs
Snippet does not use advertising, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not embed third-party analytics, marketing, or social SDKs. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), and the app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because there is nothing to track.
6. Device permissions
Snippet requests no special device permissions. It does not access your camera, photos, microphone, location, contacts, health data, motion data, or files, and it does not send push notifications.
7. Children's privacy
Snippet is rated 4+ and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Because the app does not collect personal information or require an account, no such information is gathered from users of any age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will address it.
8. Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, the right to restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability. Because your entries are stored on your own device, you can exercise most of these rights directly: you can view, edit, and delete any entry inside the app, and deleting the app removes its local data. To make a formal request or lodge a concern, email s0533495227@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
9. Your rights under CCPA/CPRA
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Snippet does not sell or share your personal information, and we do not collect personal information for advertising or profiling. You can delete all in-app data yourself by deleting your entries or removing the app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
10. Data retention
Your entries remain available for as long as you keep them in the app. We do not hold copies on our own servers, so retention is entirely under your control. Removing an entry, using the in-app delete option, or deleting the app removes the corresponding data from that device.
11. Security
Because data is stored on your device, it benefits from the security protections built into iOS, including device encryption and your device passcode or biometrics. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but keeping your data local minimizes exposure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
