Tally Five ("we," "us," "our," or the "App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise handle your information when you use our iOS application.

1. Data We Collect

Tally Five is designed to minimize data collection. Here is what we do collect:

• Win Entries: The text you type into win entries (including the date and optional category). This data is stored locally on your device.
• Sign in with Apple User Identifier: When you sign in with your Apple ID, we receive a unique user identifier from Apple. This identifier is used only for iCloud sync and a best-effort public CloudKit record showing paid status (keyed by this identifier only).

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

Tally Five does not collect or request permission to access:

• Location data
• Health or medical information
• Contacts or address book
• Photos or camera access
• Microphone or audio recordings
• Motion or device sensor data
• Browsing history or search history
• Device advertising identifier or other tracking identifiers
• Email address or full name (beyond the Sign in with Apple identifier)

3. How We Use Your Data

• Win Entries: Stored locally on your device to power the app's features (streaks, weekly review, monthly replay, yearly summary, and share cards).
• CloudKit Sync: If you are signed into an iCloud account on your device, your wins are automatically synced to your private CloudKit database for backup and cross-device access.
• Paid Status: Your Sign in with Apple identifier may be recorded in a public CloudKit record to indicate paid (Pro) status. This allows the developer to see aggregate purchase metrics but not to identify you personally.

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Local Storage: All win entries are stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
• iCloud Sync: If you are signed in to iCloud, your wins are automatically synced to your private CloudKit database and retained there as long as your iCloud account remains active.
• Deletion: You can delete individual wins or all wins through the app's Settings. If you delete your iCloud account or remove the app, all synced data is removed from CloudKit and local storage.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Win data is shared only when you explicitly choose to share a win card (via iOS share sheet). The app does not send data to external servers or third-party analytics services.

The public CloudKit record for paid status contains only your Sign in with Apple identifier and does not reveal your identity or win entries.

6. Third-Party Services

Tally Five uses only Apple's native services:

• Sign in with Apple
• CloudKit (Apple's private database service)
• StoreKit 2 (for in-app purchases)

These services are subject to Apple's own privacy policies. We do not use third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or tracking libraries.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Tally Five is rated 4+ on the App Store and is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information in violation of COPPA, please contact us immediately.

Parents or guardians can monitor and control their child's use of the app through iOS Screen Time and app privacy settings.

8. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: You have the right to access your personal data. All your win entries are visible in the app at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete individual wins or all your data through the app's Settings.
• Data Portability: You can export your data by deleting your iCloud account or the app itself; local data will be erased and CloudKit data will be removed from Apple's servers.
• Opt-Out: You can disable CloudKit sync through your device's iCloud settings.

9. Data Security

We take data security seriously. Your win entries are encrypted in transit to CloudKit and at rest on Apple's servers. Local data is protected by your device's built-in security. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

10. Offline Use

Tally Five works fully offline. If you do not sign in with Apple or disable CloudKit, your wins are stored only on your local device and are not synced anywhere.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the app constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
