Plumb
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Plumb (“the app”, “we”) does with your information. Plumb touches your camera and stores photos of your body, so we want to be especially direct: your photos never leave your device. There is no server, no account, no analytics SDK, and no network call anywhere in this app.
Who we are
The data controller for this app is Shimon Deitel (Joshua Deitel). You can reach us at s0533495227@gmail.com for any privacy question or request.
What data the app handles
- Photos you take of yourself using the front camera for daily posture check-ins.
- The date/time of each check-in, used to calculate your streak and timeline.
- Any plumb-line annotations (two draggable points) you place on a saved photo.
- Your reminder time, guideline style choice, and haptics preference.
- Whether you have purchased Plumb Pro.
All of this stays on your device, inside the app’s own private storage folder. Nothing is uploaded to us or to any third party, ever.
Camera permission
Plumb requests camera access solely to let you take your own check-in photo, framed against an on-screen vertical guideline. The camera feed is never recorded, analyzed, transmitted, or shared except to save the single photo you choose to capture into your own local check-in history. Plumb performs no facial recognition, no posture detection, and no automated analysis of your body — the plumb-line tool is a manual measurement you draw yourself.
Where your data is stored
Your check-in photos and metadata are stored on your device using standard iOS local file storage (your app’s own Documents directory). If your device is configured to use iCloud device backup, your data may be backed up through your own Apple iCloud account, which is controlled by you and governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We do not operate a server that stores your data, and we cannot access your photos.
No tracking or advertising
The app does not contain third-party advertising SDKs, and it does not use third-party analytics or tracking frameworks. We do not build advertising profiles from your activity, and we could not share your photos with anyone even if we wanted to — the app has no network connectivity of any kind.
Purchases
The app offers an optional one-time, non-consumable purchase (“Plumb Pro,” $2.99, purchased once) that unlocks unlimited photo history, multi-point comparison of 3–5 dates at once, and custom guideline colors/styles. This is a single purchase, not a subscription — it does not renew or recur, and it is billed once through the App Store. Purchase processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card details, and Pro access is tied to your Apple ID so you can restore it on any device using “Restore Purchases.”
Free-tier users see only the most recent 30 days of check-ins. Older photos are never deleted — they remain safely stored on-device and become visible again as soon as Pro is purchased or restored.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at s0533495227@gmail.com and we will address it.
Your rights (GDPR and CCPA/CPRA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and the right not to have your personal information sold. We do not sell personal information — we have no way to access it in the first place. Because your content is stored on your device, you can exercise access and erasure directly: open the app to view your check-ins, use “Delete All Photos” in Settings, or delete the app entirely. For any request you cannot complete yourself, email us at s0533495227@gmail.com and we will respond.
Deleting your data
To remove all of the app’s data from your device, use the “Delete All Photos” destructive action in Settings (which requires confirmation), or delete the app itself; either removes all locally stored check-in photos, annotations, and settings. If you sync through your own iCloud device backup, manage or remove that data in your iCloud settings.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
