Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sprout ("Sprout," "we," "us," or "the app") handles information when you use the app. Sprout is designed to collect as little information as possible — in fact, it does not collect any personal information at all.

Sprout does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Every plant you add, every watering date, and every setting is stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to any third party.

No account, no login

Sprout does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address, phone number, or password to use the app. There is no user profile stored on any server because we do not operate a server or a user database.

Information stored on your device

The content you create in Sprout — plant names, photos you attach to a plant, watering intervals, and the date each plant was last watered — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage frameworks. Your in-app settings and Pro-unlock status are also stored locally. This information stays on your device; we do not have access to it, and it is never transmitted anywhere. If you delete the app, this locally stored data is removed with it.

No AI processing, no network requests

Unlike some apps in this category, Sprout does not send any of your data to an AI service or any other third-party server. There is no network connectivity requirement for Sprout's core features — the app works entirely offline.

Purchases

Sprout offers an optional one-time in-app purchase, Sprout Pro, to unlock additional features. All purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. We do not see or store your payment card details. Apple processes the transaction and provides Sprout with the purchase status needed to unlock Pro features on your device. Your purchase is subject to Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

No advertising or tracking

Sprout does not include any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking technologies. We do not use cookies, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or cross-app tracking. We do not build behavioral profiles, and we do not sell or share any information, because we do not collect any in the first place.

Children's privacy

Sprout is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because Sprout has no accounts, no data collection, and no data transmission of any kind, no personal information is gathered from any user, so no parental consent mechanism is required under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Your privacy rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. Because Sprout does not collect or process any personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or erase on your behalf — everything you create in the app lives only on your device, where you already have full access to view, edit, or delete it, or you can delete the app to remove all data at once.

Your privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you rights relating to personal information collected about you. Sprout does not collect, sell, or share any personal information, and does not use any information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
