Privacy Policy

Effective July 2026. Applies to Folder - Family Medical Binder for iOS.

The short version: Folder collects nothing, sends nothing, and knows nothing about you. Every record you enter stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Folder has no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporters and no tracking of any kind. The app contains no networking code at all. We are not able to see your data even if we wanted to, because it never leaves your phone.

Where your data lives

Photos

When you attach a photo of a medical record, Folder uses the system photo picker. The app only receives the specific images you choose and stores copies inside its own private storage. Folder never scans or accesses the rest of your photo library.

Face ID

The optional app lock uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Biometric matching happens entirely inside iOS. Folder never sees, stores or transmits your face data; it only receives a yes or no answer from the system.

Sharing and exports

Emergency card images and PDF dossiers are created on your device and shared only through the iOS share sheet, only when you choose to share them, and only with the destination you pick. Once you share a file, its handling is governed by the app or service you shared it to.

Purchases

The optional Pro subscription is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not receive your name, payment details or any personal information from a purchase.

Children

Folder is designed for parents and guardians to manage records for their household, including children. Because the app collects no data from anyone, no child data is ever transmitted or processed by us.

Your responsibilities

Because everything is local, there is no password reset and no cloud recovery from us. Keep your device backed up if you want your binder to survive a lost or broken phone.

Changes

If a future version of Folder ever changes any of the above, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label before the change ships. The commitment to local-only storage is the product; we do not intend to change it.
